I am happy to report that the legendary restaurant supply shop Surfas (located in Culver City) recently opened a branch in Costa Mesa just off the 405 freeway. For those of you in other parts of the country (or world) that might not mean anything, but to those of us who love to cook and live south of Los Angeles, this is a godsend. Now I won’t have to make a two hour drive to stock up on kitchenwares, charcuterie, cheese and endless gourmet food products. It’s all right there barely an hour from home.
In addition to the extensive retail space there’s a cafe and a space for cooking classes. Take a look at my post detailing my day at Surfas Los Angeles learning tha art of puff pastry.
Even though I stocked up on a variety of goodies today, I see another trip to Surfas in the not too distant future.
