Calling All Italophiles

Do you dream of some day owning a home in Italy? Can you see yourself packing a few bags and heading off for a few months to your house in the countryside? Maybe you’ll stay for a year or perhaps decide to make Italy your new home. Well, that’s what Valerie and Bryan did. I’ve been following their blogs and living vicariously through them for the past five years since they left the US and took off for a life in Italy. They began their journey in a beach side town near Anzio. From there they moved to the lovely Ascoli Piceno in Le Marche where they stayed for a few years. Back in 2008 J. and I were lucky to meet them in their town for caffe and the inside scoop on what it’s really like to move to Italy.

Time has passed and they are now living in the small town of Trivigno, located in Basilicata, not far from the area where Valerie’s relatives were from. When they first arrived they didn’t reveal the name the actual town but it turns out the villagers were happy to have the story of Valerie and Bryan’s life there published on their blogs. Now we can all get a glimpse into the place they call home as they will be featured this week on House Hunters International! So be sure to tune in this Friday, November 4th at 10 pm EST and see what life is like in a small town in southern Italy.

As for the photo here, it’s where I dream of having a place some day-Calitri-where my family came from.
