I am forever grateful that I have a wonderful place to live- a scenic, small town on the coast of southern California. Too often we tend to take simple things like this for granted. Our house is nothing grand, but it’s perfect. The table in this picture is the same one I sat at every night as a child having dinner with my family. There’s something very comforting about sitting here with J., remembering all the meals I shared with my sister and parents.
I have to mention that the flowers on the table are in an olive oil can that I carried back from my time in Arezzo. When the oil was finished I just couldn’t bear to throw out the tin and then I had the idea to use it for a vase!
I am thankful for these simple pleasures and for being in a place that I love.
