I’d like to be able to say that my blog is wildly popular with thousands of people checking it out daily. Truth be told I do have a small following and I believe that most of you are not friends and family, but people who enjoy blogs and probably love Italy and food too. My sister has never even checked it out and I doubt if my best friends read it either. That’s okay I guess. I hope that I’m building my readership day by day with the help of you wonderful bloggers who have linked me.
Where am I going with this? Well yesterday when I happened to check how may hits I had, it was about four times higher than usual. Initially I was pleasantly surprised but then I became curious when I saw which post everyone had been looking at. Back on July 1st I wrote a post entitled “Mia Sorella e L’Italia” (My sister and Italy), talking about how I’d love to take my sister to Italy with me. Why would this be of interest to so many people? After a little research I found out that it was probably Italians looking at my blog thinking that it had something to do with a competition called “Sister Italy 2008” to find the most beautiful nun in the country and dispel the notion that all nuns are old and unattractive! Gotta love those Italians. Who knows what they’ll be up to next?

You sound like me-wondering if people enjoy the blog-thanks for the birthday wishes-how did that dinner turn out that you made last week? I am making linquini with clam sauce tonight, a little bit of fresh oregano, parsely, baby clams, and threw in a few fresh tomatoes-my daughter said what is that?? I said your favorite, remember? Little by littlel I share my blog with select friends-the family doesn’t get it, nor does my best friend!!!! Oh well, we blog for our selves, for our passions, and there will be kindred souls out there who love it too!!

Chickie-I make what I call Italian Easter Pie-with ricotta, eggs, mozzarella and prosciutto. My grandmother, who was from Calitri (near Avellino), made it every year. Are you from Italy?

Ciao,
I read your blog because the title attracted me to it. I found it thru another blogger. Normally that’s what I do, I go via other’s blogrolls and I’m constantly finding new ones.
I have to tell you I’m addicted to these blogs. I don’t know what I did before with my time.
Of course, one thing you all have in common is the love of Italy and food and that’s what interests me.
I live in the midwest, but I was born in Sicily.
Piacere e arrivederci,
Carole

Hi Carole-thanks for reading. I totally understand what you mean about being addicted to blogs-it’s so easy to get interested in what others are doing, especially when it relates to food and Italy! Spero di visitare Sicilia. Non sono mai andata in Sicilia.
